The Rubik's cube was invented in 1974 by Ernõ Rubik, sculptor and Hungarian professor of architecture who is interested in the geometry and in the study of the forms 3D.
We, developpers of Kibur 3D, are french students in computer sciences. We are studying 3D and images analysis and before the end of February 2007, we had to develop a software which uses a maximum of our abilities learned. One of our professor,
Mickaël Montassier, proposed us to make a virtual 3D rubik's cube.
Kibur had to have the followings features:
- easy manipulation of a 3D cube
- acquisition of a real cube from a photo or a webcam
- easy step by step solver
All of these features have been completely done, except the webcam acquisition on Mac OS X.
